A nice warm welcome on arrival. Rooms a bit dated but clean and spacious. Good breakfast with lovely bacon, scrambled eggs not the best. But nice service. All in all a decent stay. Make sure you visit Mary Queen of Scots house, it was excellent and free. We just gave a donation.

Stayed here when walking the St Cuthbert's Way. A very warm welcome, good advice about where to eat. The room was clean comfortable and quiet. Good value for the price. Good choice at breakfast and a taxi organised to take us back to the route. Would recommend it Clean comfortable and quiet, good shower and nice towels

We stayed here after a gig at Floors castle and it was just what we needed. There is a free car par just down from the hotel and the staff were all great and accommodating with later check in. Rooms were good size and comfortable and breakfast was nice. The hotel itself is perfectly positioned for exploring the local area and we were lucky enough to be there during on a craft fayre day in the town which was great, thanks to the owners for letting us know about this! Would recommend and stay again if back in that area :)
